Dealing with Vermin: Prevention and Resolution
Edited

Vermin infestations can be a distressing experience for tenants. However, there are several preventative measures you can take to minimise the risk of an infestation. If vermin are still reoccurring despite these measures, we can instruct pest control services. Here's what you need to know:

Preventative Measures

  1. Seal Entry Points: Check for cracks or holes in walls, floors, and ceilings. Seal these entry points to prevent vermin from entering.

  2. Proper Waste Disposal: Always dispose of your waste in sealed bags and use bins with tight-fitting lids.

  3. Food Storage: Store food in airtight containers and never leave food out in the open.

  4. Regular Cleaning: Keep your living spaces clean. Regularly vacuum, sweep, and mop floors, and wipe down surfaces.

  5. Pet Food: If you have pets, do not leave their food out for extended periods.

If Vermin Persist

If you've taken all the preventative measures and still experience issues with vermin, it's time to escalate the matter.

  1. Report the Issue: Use our FixFlo system to report the issue. This allows us to track the problem and take appropriate action.

  2. Pest Control: After preventative measures have been taken, Property Genius can instruct a pest control service to deal with the issue.

By taking these steps, you can significantly reduce the risk of a vermin infestation and ensure a more comfortable living environment.
